Things that the Europeans traded with the native Americans:
The native Americans traded fur, fruit, and other useful things. The Europeans traded iron tools, money, blankets, cloth, and colorful beads. Other things that Europeans traded were gun powder and tomahawks.

If you think that the Europeans didn't affect the natives then you're wrong. The Europeans affected the native Americans because the Europeans brought diseases such as the measles. It affected them because the disease caused millions of native Americans to die. The Europeans also had to kill natives to build houses. This means they had to destroy the houses and build houses that were better, but took up more space.

The goals of the Europeans in America were to set up colonies. Columbus originally set out to explore a new path to Asia. When he got there his plan was to bring more and more people. His plan failed because the ones he left there got sick and died.

The purpose of Christopher Columbus sailing was to find new routes to China, Japan, India, and the Spice lands. He also he wanted to find spices and riches.

The Europeans were planning to trade gold, parrots, plants, potatoes, peanuts, corn, and animals, to get beaver fur and most wanted bull pelts. After the trading the Europeans had more fur than anything they traded.

Columbus tried to go around the world and get to Asia but ended up in the Bahamas. Columbus was looking for a faster, western trade route, to make transportation to Asia easier. He wanted to get spices and riches for Spain to impress the people who sent him. Columbus mistakenly believed the Atlantic Ocean is bigger than it really was, so when he landed in the Bahamas he thought it was the East Indies. When he saw the dark skinned people he called them Indians. It was a total accident.
